Red Paint

So, I be-bop down to Wal-Mart to get a quart of red paint to paint the sign for our church's Christmas parade float.

Would you believe Wal-Mart doesn't sell red paint!?!

You can get varying shades of red, specifically pink, but you can't get "barn red". You can't even have it mixed! Only shades of red were available, but nothing that anybody would call "red".

Oh, you can get red spray paint and if you go to the craft aisle you can get a little bitty teeny tiny bottle of red paint, but it would take three dozen (at $2.99/bottle) to get it done.

What's the world coming to?

Ace Hardware, here I come!

You can't have it mixed? Why?

They can't mix it because they don't have the recipe for "red".

No joking!

You should have asked for crimson...they would have had plenty of that, at least in Alabama!

A neighbor a few years ago who worked for Porter Paints told me to look on the label of paint cans for the water content. Wal-Mart had about 85%, HD/Lowes was about 75%, but Porter was about 25% water. He said that is why paint at Wal-Mart costs about 1/2 of what his paint sold for.
Try Porter Paint if there is one nearby.
