My teacher told me this is a word for word literal translation of the Chinese. Yikes. He should have asked someone instead of using a dictionary. I thought it was pretty funny.

I bet that it is exiter lamp not exciter lamp. I think that jury refers to "a body of persons" as does the dictionary.
